Ok, so we all love sipping on a nice cup of hot cocoa on a rainy or snowy day, right? But let's be honest hot chocolate is not usually the healthiest of options. Well, we're about to change that with our AMAZING hot chocolate recipe! Not only is it much healthier than your regulation cuppa cocoa, it's got the added health benefits of bone broth! OH! And it can easily be made into a keto recipe by subbing the honey for erithrytol or any other keto friendly sweetener. It's insanely easy.
Before we get to the main event, let's just talk a little bit about our smoothie booster! The smoothie base is made with the exact same technique as our popular chicken bone broth, but we use our tricks to make it taste like..... NOTHING! We get asked all the time "but won't it make my smoothie/hot chocolate/oatmeal/whatever else taste like chicken?" to which we answer, "we would never do you like that!" We PROMISE. You'll completely forget that your smoothie/hot chocolate/oatmeal/whatever else has bone broth and all it's awesome nutrients in there! It's undetectable! Ok. Here's how to make collagen rich healthy hot chocolate.
HEALTHY HOT CHOCOLATE
1/2 cup Borderland Food Co Smoothie Booster
1/2 cup non-dairy milk (we suggest coconut milk!)
1.5 tsp honey (or healthy sweetener of your choice)
1.5 tbsp cacao powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Add all the ingredients to a sauce pan on medium heat. Stir mixture constantly until comes to a boil. Remove from heat and froth using a hand blender (optional, but highly recommended). Serve!
